Solar eclipse to be broadcast live on the web - Brief Article
On 4 December 2002 Australia will experience its first total solar eclipse for 26 years and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Telstra Country Wide are offering people the chance to witness this event live on the web.
The webcast will begin broadcasting live from the town of Ceduna at 1915 Australian Central Daylight saving Time (ACDT).
The broadcast will include interviews with astronomers, eclipse watchers and locals during the run up to, and following, the total eclipse which will happen at 1940 ACDT.
The webcast will run for 45 minutes and the public are invited to display their own photographs of the event in the online gallery and tell others of their eclipse experiences.
