Blagg and Johnson: a laser cut above the rest
Pressed and cold rolled steel sections and fabricated assembly specialist reveals GBP500,000 investment in state-of-the-art laser cutting equipment and computer technology.
A leading manufacturer that specialises in pressed and cold rolled steel sections and fabricated assemblies has revealed a GBP500,000 investment in state-of-the-art laser cutting equipment and computer technology. Blagg and Johnson's new Trumpf 4kw laser cutting centre, which can accommodate pieces up to six metres by two metres and can cut up to 20mm mild steel (all grades), 15mm stainless steel (all grades) and 10mm aluminium, and provides pipe-cutting facilities, will enable it to complement its current pressing and fabricating operations. Blagg and Johnson is a privately-owned company that has BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and uses Solidworks 3D CAD and Lantek CAM systems.
It offers a comprehensive service including laser cutting, turret punching, plasma cutting, welding, shearing, presswork, fabricated assemblies and cold rolled sections.
The Newark-based company supplies components to a wide range of industries, including construction, commercial vehicles, materials handling and general engineering.
Managing Director Conrad Gray said: 'This substantial investment will help the company to become a one-stop-shop for its clients and our investment will mean that components can be made more competitively, efficiently and to a higher degree of accuracy whether in mild steel, stainless steel or aluminium'.
