Parker Pneumatic has developed a unique, miniaturised pneumatic valve system - the Moduflex System - that is set to globally revolutionise the design of electro-pneumatic control and automation systems. The Moduflex System comprises: * Two sizes of miniature high flow electro-pneumatic valves * Three series - (Stand alone valves; Compact valve islands with individual electrical connectors; Valve islands complete with integrated electrical connection) * Four valve functions - (4/2 Single solenoid; 4/2 Double Solenoid; Double 3/2 NC; Double 3/2 NO). This enables the Moduflex system to be configured to control virtually any pneumatic application and the exceptional flow rates allow the operation of cylinders with bore sizes up to 100 mm.
Working pressure is vacuum to 8 bar (120 psi) with flow figures of Size 1, 400 Nl/min (Cv 0.38) and Size 2, 1200 Nl/min (Cv1,13).
At the heart of the Moduflex valve design is an ingenious application of the well proven ceramic slide plate technology providing exceptional performance and very long service life in excess of 100 million cycles and with up to 50% fewer working parts than competitive units.
Each individual valve module is available with a choice of push-in pneumatic connections, either straight or elbow in a range of sizes - the low consumption 24 V DC electrical solenoids can be supplied with cable plugs for individual wiring or with plug- together integrated electrical connections for multi-wire connection.
Individual electrical connections are IP65 dust and water protected with IP67 protection for integrated connections.
LED indicators are a standard feature of all solenoids as is the unique 'adaptable manual override', which provides a multi-function tamperproof system for each stage of system commissioning.
On all valve island versions the pressure and all exhaust flow paths including pilot exhausts are common.
For stand alone versions push-in exhaust port silencers are available.
Peripheral control modules such as dual-flow modules, pressure regulator modules and dual pilot operated check valve modules can be plugged-in directly to the valve island or installed in-line closer to the cylinder.
All Moduflex modules may be DIN rail mounted as standard.
This total modularity provides OEMs and end-users with the flexibility to build customised valve islands.
Post assembly island modifications are easy: valves can be added and removed, functions changed, tubing sizes and piloting changed - in minutes.
The Moduflex system can be supplied as individual modules or fully assembled valve islands as required.
Another advantage of the Moduflex system is the facility to incorporate two sizes of valve in the same island for varying flow requirements - the overall height of the island remains the same, Size 1 units are 25 mm wide, Size 2 are 37.5 mm wide.
Size 1 valves for air flows up to 400 Nl/min, with 4 mm or 6 mm OD tubes for pressure supply and exhaust collection, will control the operation of cylinders from 6 mm to 40 mm bore.
Size 2 valves, for flows up to 1200 Nl/min, take 8 mm or 10 mm OD tubes and will control cylinders from 40 mm to 100 mm.
