Shell Solar Installs Solar Panels at CA Water District Facility
Shell Solar recently announced it has installed a 980-kilowatt solar electric power system at the Semitropic Water Storage District's (SWSD) treatment and storage facility in Wasco, California.
Shell Solar said the system is projected to deliver 1.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, with an estimated energy savings of approximately $3.3 million over the expected 25-year lifespan of the system.
According to Shell Solar, the solar array features a patent-pending single-axis tracking system that allows the panels to follow the sun. The array was developed using the company's "panelization" process, whereby multiple modules are factory assembled into large panels.
