Triaxial accelerometer cuts data collection time
New Triaxial Accelerometer quickly delivers data to Emerson CSI 2130 Machinery Health Analyser for use in improving the identification of bearing faults and improper lubrication
Emerson Process Management has introduced a specially designed triaxial accelerometer with integral magnet that breaks new ground in monitoring rotating equipment. Smaller than conventional triaxial accelerometers, this new sensor delivers excellent measurement quality and faster data collection in the field by technicians using the dual channel CSI 2130 Machinery Health Analyser. The new triaxial accelerometer decreases implementation costs because it does not require a stud mount.
Instead, it can be magnetically attached on a mounting pad and still deliver excellent measurements up to 10 KHz in the primary axis and above 3 MHz in the secondary axes.
When used in conjunction with Emerson PeakVue technology, the high frequency response range available identifies bearing faults and improper machine lubrication, ensuring that users are made aware of these potentially damaging conditions.
Using this approach, all the required data on a typical bearing point can be gathered in 7 to 10 seconds, which is 30% to 75% faster than with conventional approaches, reducing field data collection time.
The compact design of the triaxial sensor also makes it versatile enough for general monitoring applications, used as a single-axis sensor without any special type of mounting.
It can be placed directly on the machine housing - even curved surfaces - and still provide quality data.
Users gain the full value of the new triaxial accelerometer and CSI 2130 Machinery Health Analyser when they are used in conjunction with the Emerson AMS Suite: Machinery Health Manager software application that makes the condition of critical mechanical equipment readily available to key plant decision-makers.
Emerson Machinery Health Management solutions are key elements of the PlantWeb digital plant architecture.
